Polskie LNG S.A. launched the Market Screening procedure to identify the demand for expansion of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście and additional services to be provided

The Market Screening procedure is aimed to identify the demand for: increased regasification, LNG truck cistern loading services, LNG rail cistern loading services, LNG bunkering, LNG reloading to smaller vessels, LNG storage services.

The LNG terminal in Świnoujście will be operational in the second half of 2014 with its annual regasification capacity of 5 bcm/y. To meet the expectations of the prospective clients, Polskie LNG S.A. intends to identify the potential market demand for the aforementioned services. The findings of the Market Screening will complete the on-going analyses and support further development of Terminal’s functionality.

Polskie LNG S.A. is a special purpose vehicle established by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. to construct and operate the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.

Binding Open Season by Eustream at for SK-UA Interconnector

Based on a previously conducted market survey, Eustream is organizing a binding Open Season as part of its plan to construct the SK-UA Interconnector near the existing interconnection point Veľké Kapušany. The capacity is to be requested in lots where one lot represents transmission capacity of 100,000 cm/day (at 20°C and 101325 Pa). Lots are to be booked for a determinate period of time of 1, 5 and 10 years. Provided the booked transmission capacities will guarantee economical viability, the SK-UA Interconnector should start commercial operations in 2014.

Annual National Grid Quarterly System Entry Capacity (QSEC) Auctions

National Grid hold an annual (March) long term capacity auction process, where Firm NTS Entry Capacity is made available in quarterly tranches from Y+2 through to Y+16 (where Y = current Gas Year) .
Where users signal (through the auction process) that demand at an entry point exceeds the capacity available, and subject to an economic test, National Grid will become obligated to release additional capacity on an enduring basis.

Market survey for physical reverse flow at Negru Voda 1, 2 and 3, and at Kula-Sidirokastron Interconnection Points

Bulgartransgaz have now published a market survey questionnaire for the interconnection points: Negru Voda 1, 2 and 3, and Kula-Sidirokastron. This publication is linked to the implementation of the EU Security of Supply regulation (EU) 994/2010 which states in article 6(5) that TSOs have to “enable physical gas flow in both directions on cross-border interconnections”.
The proposal for bi-directional capacity or the request for exemption shall be based on the assessment of market demand, projections for demand and supply, and the benefits for security of supply.
