ENTSOG Objectives
European Gas TSOs working towards the delivery of the single European gas market.
The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) works to promote the completion and functioning of the internal market and cross-border trade for gas and to ensure the optimal management, coordinated operation and sound technical evolution of the European natural gas transmission network.
It was created on 1 Dec 2009 and is now comprised of 33 TSOs from 22 European countries to ensure early progress towards the single market.
What will we do?
The objectives of the organisation are defined in Gas Regulation 715/2009.
The work will include:
- elaboration of network codes
- development of Community wide ten-year network development plan
- enhancing the provision of information to the market
- delivering common network operational tools to co-ordinate network operation.
The work will be focussed to deliver tangible improvements wherever TSOS are able to work.
It will also involve intensive activity working with Commission, regulators (ERGEG now but subsequently ACER) and wider stakeholders.
Our activities for 2010 are contained within our 2010 Annual Work Programme.
ENTSOG's objectives include:
Contributing to the development of a fully open and operational European transmission system;
- Enhancing cross-border transmission access and the promotion of gas trading;
- Supporting interoperability of the European transmission systems;
- Supporting development of policy to promote market solutions and security of supply;
- Contributing to the setting of a stable public policy framework;
- Contributing to a safe and reliable European transmission system suitable for meeting present and future transportation needs
